DarkStar is one of the few industry-authorized enterprise-wide area networks (eWANs) in operation. Operating under a single Authority-to-Operate (ATO), DarkStar provides a secure, encrypted, shared backend that supports classified program in on-premises environments.The Systems Engineer-IT will serve as an administrator for DarkStar production environments. Primary duties include deploying and configuring new systems, applying patches, validating and remediating security scans, resolving systems faults, and more. The role requires comfort working across Linux and Windows platforms and a strong orientation toward timely, hands‑on support of users and applications—an ideal foundation for developing deep technical expertise on unique, classified systems.Basic QualificationsDoD 8140 IAT Level II compliant certification (or equivalent)Demonstrated experience with Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) processes or equivalent (HIPPA/PCI)Hands-on administration of both Linux/UNIX and Windows environments (installing, patching, configuration, and troubleshooting)Experience installing and maintating software applications, and performing vulnerability remediation and security management (using SCCM, Yum, Ivanti, Splunk, Trellix, etc.)Familiarity with scripting and command-line automation for workstations or servers (e.g., Ansible, Bash, or Powershell)US Citizenship required at this facilityDesired SkillsAbility to obtain DoD Top Secret security clearanceExperience with Active DirectoryFamiliarity with ITIL incident-resolution workflowExperience with ITSM tools (ServiceNow, Jira, Confluence)Knowledge of HPC clustersUnderstanding of Red Hat OpenShiftFamiliarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, KVM, etc.)Hands-on experience with enterprise managment components such as print management, account management, PXE imaging, performance monitoring, license management, etc.Pay InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $79300.00 - $147300.00At Lockheed Martin, we know mission success starts with taking care of our people.
